In earlier posts, I wondered if the Bush Administration was capable of reaching an agreement with North Korea.
It might just be that any agreement is going to take a little, um, initiative on the part of US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Christopher Hill—and by initiative I mean going off the reservation a la Paul Nitze and the walk in the woods .
Dick Garwin just asked that question of former Secretary of Defense Bill Perry.
After saying a whole bunch of really nice things about Hill, Perry added this little comment.
I hope he continues to exceed his instructions.
Laughter all around.
