Albania to the Rescue

Just as news of the Spanish and Honduran pullouts from Iraq was giving “false comfort to terrorists” and evil-doers the world over, Albania announces it may increase its “71-member-strong contingent patrolling the northern city of Mosul under U.S. command.”

“The public commitment from Tirana was bound to be welcome news to the United States after Spain’s weekend announcement that it was withdrawing its 1,300-member contingent as soon as possible,” AP cheerled. AP also describes Bush as scolding Spanish PM Zapatero.

Did I miss the part where AP became a wholly owned subsidiary of the United States Department of Defense? Normally, I get my flag draped propaganda from Jim Garamone and American Forces Press Service.
