The GAO just released a shocking report, Diploma Mills: Diploma Mills Are Easily Created and Some Have Issued Bogus Degrees at Government Expense to Federal Employees, that finds “28 [GS-15 (or equivalent) and above] employees [from eight agencies] listed degrees from unaccredited schools…”
So, I naturally googled websites from the Defense Department, which was not one of the eight agencies examined. I managed to find several persons with degrees from institutions listed by the GAO as “diploma mills,” including the Director of Finance and Management Policy in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs.
One of these folks managed to work on July 2003 Final Environmental Final Environmental Impact Statement by the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command.
That’s high quality work right there.
