    So here’s the question I have…

    Why are we even worried about conventionally armed ballistic missiles?

    At the end of the day they are an expensive and inefficient way to deliver a ton or two of high explosives to somewhere in the neighborhood of a target. By and large, they’re less accurate than cruise missiles, and really only good for area targets, such as cities. Really, they aren’t much more than an expensive barrel bomb. Without a nuclear or chemical warhead (both of which are fairly well controlled by existing systems), they just don’t make a lot of sense.

    While I’m not sure I want every Tom, Dick, and Kim to have them, I have to wonder if they are really what we should be worrying about.
